To ensure the continued success of our programs, GFLA after much planning and coordination with Fairfax County, is sponsoring the redevelopment of Leo into an all weather synthetic turf field. In addition to providing a safe playing surface for our children, it will maximize the opportunity for our players to realize the joys that come from competing against their peers from other clubs in Northern Virginia. With our Spring and Fall lacrosse programs, and the newly launched field hockey program, Leo is used seven days a week. Given the frequent inclement weather which often renders grass fields such as Leo Santaballa unplayable, and the severe time constraints on access to synthetic turf fields at other Fairfax County facilities, the time has come to invest in the future. Leo would become a complex we can all be proud of and it would serve as a home to future generations of Great Falls families, providing them with the opportunity to develop a passion for the sports of lacrosse and field hockey.
