Welcome to Great Falls Lacrosse – Fall 2009!
The 2009 Great Falls Lacrosse Fall Program will begin Saturday September 12th and run through November 7th with no clinics held on Columbus Day Weekend October 10th/11th
Players should attend clinics, or register for tournament teams, based on their age division in for the Spring 2010 season. Here are the age classifications for the 2010 Season:

  • U15 -- Birth years 1995 and 1996
  • U13 -- Birth years 1997 and 1998
  • U11 -- Birth years 1999 and 2000
  • U9 -- Birth years 2001 and younger
A preliminary schedule for these clinics appears in the Schedule Tab.
We have some very exciting programs this Fall which include several opportunities for experienced players to hone their skills and for new players to gain exposure to the fundamentals of the game. For 2009, we are pleased to offer the following (each is further described by clicking on the appropriate heading):

Saturday Clinics (All Age Groups, Including LittleLax)
GFLA’s Saturday Clinics offer an opportunity for new lacrosse players to gain exposure to the fundamentals of the game while offering experienced players the opportunity to hone their skills.  Clinics are run for players as young as 4 years old (LittleLax) to players involved at the U-15 level. Clinics are held Saturdays and coached by age-group coordinators and volunteer coaches. These clinics will focus on a wide range of offensive and defensive skills and include scrimmages with local clubs near at the end of the Fall Season for age groups U9 and above.

Specialty Clinics for Experienced Players
We are pleased to introduce specialty clinics to our Fall line-up this year. At present, we have firmed up commitments with highly talented instructors for the following clinics. We are continuing to work on adding more clinics and will make that information available once we have finalized logistics.

Boys (sessions organized into U13/U15 and U9/U11)
Offensive and Defensive Skills Clinics (4 sessions each held on alternate weeks). Players can participate in either or both. The clinics will be held on Sunday afternoon. Instructors:   Ian Healy and John DiCamillo (HELD ON SUNDAYS)
Goalie Clinics -- Co-Ed (one session for all age groups)
Four sessions total -- each clinic will cover a different aspect of goalie play. Instructor: Shane Twomey (HELD ON SATURDAYS)
For the past two years GFLA has organized Girls 7v7 Tournament Teams for experienced U13 and U15 players. As in past years, U13 and U15 teams will travel at least four 7v7 Tournaments between early September and early November. Depending on the level of interest, tryouts may be held to select players for these teams.

For both boys and girls, we are currently evaluating alternatives for GFLA coordinated league play. At present, TripleEdge’s offseason league appears to be the most logical alternative for us. This will be a games only format, with games most likely held on Sundays. Rather than asking parents and players to register at this time without additional details on the program, you will be asked to register your interest and as we get more detail and understand the interest among our players, we will get out additional details and ask you to register.
